Ring guard is rubbing against my skin & irritating my pinky & middle finger. Any solution other than resizing?

-my ring is a little loose, but not big enough to be resized.
- i had a jeweler put on a ring guard (basically a piece of metal wrapped around the underside of the ring) and that made it fit better in a sense that it will not be able to get over my knuckle without some effort…but the ring still slightly wiggles back and forth left to right and that causes the guard to irritate my skin on the surrounding fingers.
- i don’t want to resize because my fingers tend to shrink and swell with the changing seasons and temperatures.
- i’ve read about “ring snuggies” that are pvc ring guards, but don’t know if they would work.
- any one have any suggestions?
- any experience with the “ring snuggies”?

This will sound strange coming from a guy, but, this is my solution. Put some clear fingernail polish on the inside of the ring. It might take a couple of coats, but it works for me. It also will prevent your ring from turning your finger green, if your body reacts to the metal.
